Ronald Lee Doner

Ronald Lee Doner, 67, of Van Wert, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, while in hospice care in Fort Wayne, with his family by his side. 

Ron was born May 3, 1954, to Ronald L. and Carole L. Doner in Van Wert. He married the love of his life, Patricia Davis, September 14, 1974. 

Ron graduated from Newbury Park High School, Newbury Park, California. He worked for Aeroquip, All-American Homes and various independent contractors as a carpenter. He enjoyed and loved his family. His grandson, Jaylen, held a very special spot in his heart. One of Ron’s joys was watching Jaylen play football and seeing his success in his school studies. In his youth, Ron, enjoyed fishing, skeet shooting and his gun collection. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed the love and home cooking from his always caring mother. 

He is preceded in death by his wife; his father; his son, Ronald L. Doner II; his paternal grandparents, LeRoy and Ruby Doner, and maternal grandparents, John and Alma Bolenbaugh.

Ron is survived by his mother; daughter, Ryanne Doner; grandson, Jaylen Murphy; sister, Rhonda (Don) Foster; brothers Rob (Leasha) Doner and Randy Doner; aunts Sharon (Malcolm) Laner and Jean Metzger; uncles Gary (Carla) Doner and Jack (Sharon) Bolenbaugh, and nephew and nieces Greg Foster, Chris Martinez, Jon, Jason, Jami, Lexi and Logan Doner. 

The family prays he is in the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with loved ones that passed before him. 

Due to COVID-19, a graveside service will be held at a later date.
