Commissioner to face challenge this fall

Incumbent Republican Van Wert County Commissioner Thad Lichtensteiger will have a challenger in November.

No Democrats filed to run for Lichtensteiger’s seat but according to the Van Wert County Board of Elections, Kyle Gehres of Convoy filed petitions to run as an independent ahead of Monday’s 4 p.m. deadline.
