New targets to be used at match

The Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association will be hosting a Modern Military CMP sanctioned match on Saturday, October 15, 2022. This match is open to any rifle that falls into the modern military category such as an AR 15, M-14, or M-1 Garand. Also, any other formal military rifle may be used such as a 1903-A3, 1917, or any other foreign military rifle.

Registration starts at 8:45 a.m. and the match will begin at 9:45 a.m. Those who have never participated in a match at the Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association, should arrive by 9 a.m. The range safety briefing starts at 9:30 a.m.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program is bringing electronic targets for use in the Modern Military CMP sanctioned match. Therefore, the club will be closed on Friday afternoon and evening to get the system all put up and ready to go by Saturday morning. There will be no walking or pasting of targets. Participants do not need to bring any special equipment to use the target system. The system will record the shot and will show the results on your screen. Those participating only need to have their own personal equipment to participate such as a firearm.

The club has 30.06 and .223 ammunition available for purchase to use in this match.
