Elks to hold annual memorial service

Van Wert Elks Lodge No. 1197 has announced its annual memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 4, in the Lodge Room.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks mandates that the first Sunday in December of each year be set aside as the day in the Order when Elks shall pause and pay their respects to those members who have passed away.

This year the Lodge will remember the following deceased members: Steven M. Mack, Robert L. Koehl, Donald C. Vonderau, Glen O. Mosier, Donald J. Baker, James D. Stanley, Daryl G. Neuenschwander Jr., Larry G. Wilkin, Lauren F. Brown, Don J. Uhl, Michael G. Arn, John L. Riley, Carey A. Waltz, Gerald R. Moser, Jerry W. Baer, Charles F. Kennedy III and Thomas J. Gallagher.

This year’s service will feature Pastor Greg Leigh of Convoy as the main speaker. Special music will be provided by Greg and Laura Leigh vocalists.

Lodge Chaplain Mary Weisman is the officer in charge of this service. The service is open to the public and all are invited to attend.
