Cast needed for new VWCT musical
VW independent staff/submitted information
Auditions for “Ghost the Musical” will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 26 and Monday, February 27, at the Van Wert Civic Theatre, 118 South Race Street. Director Chad Kraner, Music Director Dee Fisher and Choreographer Kim Pollock need a large cast with ages ranging from high school to beyond.

Adapted from the hit film by its Academy Award-winning screenwriter, Bruce Joel Rubin, “Ghost, the Musical” follows Sam and Molly, a young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam’s untimely death. The bond of love transcends the boundaries of life itself to grow stronger and more fully realized. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, who helps him protect Molly and avenge his death.
“Ghost the Musical” is a poignant romance that builds comedy, suspense, and deeply felt emotion to an ethereal climax that audiences will never forget. Character information and snippets of the songs can be found here.
Those auditioning should bring a short (90 second) prepared song that showcases your vocal range and abilities. Piano accompaniment will be provided. Come dressed to move as you will be asked to do a few dance moves during auditions.
Performances will be at 8 p.m. May 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, and 2 p.m. May 7 and 14. Email Chad Kraner at chad@vwct.org for more information. Presented by special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide.
