Softball: Crestview wins, Lancers fall

Crestview 17 Kalida 2 (five innings)

CONVOY — It was no contest as No. 1 seed Crestview defeated No. 11 seed Kalida 17-2 in a five inning Division IV sectional semifinal game on Monday.

Megan Mosier paced the Lady Knights with two hits, three RBI and three runs scored, while Katelyn Castle had a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Katie Sawmiller also had two RBI.

On the mound, Olivia Heckler and Michaala Lugabihl combined for a one hitter with 11 strike outs.

Crestview (17-2) will host Wayne Trace in a regular season game on Wednesday, then will host Pandora-Gilboa for the sectional championship at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Paulding 3 Lincolnview 2

PAULDING — Tia Mendez drove in a pair of runs and Paulding edged Lincolnview 3-2 in a regular season matchup on Monday. Maci Kauser had Paulding’s other RBI, as the Panthers scored all three of their runs in the fifth.

Addysen Stevens hit a home run for Lincolnview and Taylor post had an RBI double.

Lincolnview will host Antwerp today.
