L’view’s Moody wins three NWC events

DELPHOS — It was a clean sweep for Columbus Grove at the Northwest Conference track and field championships at Stadium Park in Delphos.

The Bulldogs won both titles at the two-day event, held Thursday and Saturday. The boys’ team easily outdistanced Bluffton for the top spot (144-118), while the girls’ team also defeated Bluffton (152-116). Allen East took third on the boys side (80), edging fourth place Lincolnview (79). Crestview finished seventh (45.5 points). Lincolnview finished third on the girls side (92.5) and Crestview was fifth (73).

Lincolnview freshman Brynleigh Moody captured three individual titles, winning the 1600 meter run (5:26.54), the 800 meter run (2:23.23) and the 3200 meter run (12:38.71).

The 4×800 relay team (Ava Milligan, Kendall Hoffman, Kendall Coil, Moody) finished second with a time of 10.28.99). Lincolnview’s other top finishers included Cheyenne Pohlman, who took second in the discus (102-3); Lauren Jones (fifth, long jump, 14-4.25); Beth Hughes (fourth, shot put, 28-11.75); Summer Karbowiak (third, high jump, 4-6); Sage Menke, (fourth, pole vault, 8-0), and the 4×200 relay team of Reagan Dunlap, Harper Reindel, Keira Breese and Emma Hatcher finished fourth (1:58.16).

On the boys’ side, the 4×800 meter relay team of Conner Baldauf, Evan Johns, Maddox Norton and Kreston Tow finished second (8:23.48), and the 4×400 relay team (Koehn Cox, Tow, Kaleb Denman, Baldauf) also finished second (3:34.29).

Other top finishers for the Lancer boys were Steven Smith (third, shot put, 48-6.5); Denman (third, pole vault, 12-0); Warren Mason, long jump, 18-5.75); Baldauf (fourth, 1600 meter run, 4:38.04); Cody Ricker (fourth, 300 meter hurdles, 43.60; fourth, 800 meter run, 2:02.84), and Kreston Tow (third, 800 meter run, 2:00.84).

Crestview’s Addyson Dowler was the 100 meter dash champion with a time of 12.73, and she finished third in the 200 meter dash (27.14). Macy Kulwicki finished second in the 1600 meter run (5:31.18), while Anna Gardner was the runner up in the 3200 meter run (12:45.07).

Other top finishers for the Crestview girls were Marissa Gros (second, long jump, 15-5.75) and Chloe Nielsen (fourth, 400 meter dash, 1:05.83). The 4×100 meter relay team of Nielsen, Kulwicki, Ellieannah Ward and Dowler was the runner-up (52:06), and the 4×800 team (Kulwicki, Baylee Miller, Gardner, Grace Ross was fourth, 4:28.50.

Crestview’s Jaret Harting won the long jump title, 19-8.5.
