Finn named new DSJ girls hoops coach

DELPHOS – The Delphos St. John Schools athletic department has announced that Ian Finn has been named as the school’s new varsity girls basketball coach.

Finn’s latest coaching experience was within the Fort Jennings Jr. High girls program and a fifth and eighth grade boys AAU team. In addition to coaching, he is a production manager at a manufacturing business in Lima. He has supervised a team of 50 staff members and trained and supervised production staff for the last three years. In recent months, Finn has been a basketball personal trainer at Apex Sports Zone.
According to a press release from the school, Finn considers himself a hardworking head coach with a strong desire in building a program dedicated to player achievement on and off court. He is focused on improving skills, instilling discipline and building winning teams, and feels he has strong leadership skills and planning and problem-solving abilities.
“I am excited to build a staff that will consist of my same passion to help me make my vision of building a winning culture that starts at the elementary (level) a reality,” he said.
The Blue Jays will tip off the 2023-2023 season November 24 at Delphos Jefferson.
