Latta: nominations wanted for high honor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Bob Latta (R-5th district) is seeking nominations for Fifth District veterans to receive a Congressional Commendation for their service.

According to Latta, nearly 40,000 veterans call Ohio’s Fifth District home, andhe said as Veterans Day approaches, veterans deserve to be thanked for their heroism and sacrifice. The Fifth District includes Van Wert County.

“This year, I am asking for your help to make sure the veterans in your life and community are recognized for their service through a nomination process so they may receive a Congressional Commendation for their service,” Latta said.

Eligibility requirements and supporting materials to submit:

• Veteran is a current resident of Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District.
• Veteran served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces or was a reservist called to active duty.
• Veteran was honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Services.
• DD-214 form (required).

The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, November 6.
