Antwerp tops Crestview 48-43

ANTWERP — It was a defensive struggle between two of the area’s better Division IV teams but in the end, the Antwerp Archers improved to 10-0 with a 48-43 win over Crestview on Saturday. The Knights fell to 8-4.

Landon Brewer and Carson Altimus combined for 11 points in the first quarter and the Archers led 15-9 after the first quarter. Each team scored just seven points in the second quarter and Antwerp led 22-16 at the break. Wren Sheets scored six points in the third quarter but Zaine McMichael and Brewer teamed up for 10 points and Antwerp led 38-31 entering the final period.

Sheets finished with a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Connor Sheets added eight points and eight rebounds. Brewer led Antwerp with 15 points and eight rebounds and Altimus chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Knights will host Bluffon on Friday and will play Cincinnati Purcell Marian at the Hoosier Gym on Saturday. Antwerp will travel to Edgerton on Friday.
