Karen S. Linton

Karen S. Linton, 83, of Van Wert passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on November 25,1940, in Van Wert, to Paul D. Waymire and Grace B. (Allison) Waymire, who both preceded her in death. She married John R. Linton on March 24, 1962, and he survives.

Karen was a 1958 graduate of Van Wert High School and was a 1960 graduate of the International Business College of Fort Wayne. She retired in 1997 from Unicrete Supply Company as a secretary after working there for 20 years. Karen was also an avid bowler at Olympic Lanes, Van Wert and loved to work on puzzles. She was in a bridge club, a Girl Scout leader and was also a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Linton; a daughter, Lisa Linton of Mooresville, North Carolina; a son, Randall Linton of Van Wert; a sister, Marcia Elston of Middle Point, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John P. Waymire and one sister, Nancy J. Coplin.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 14, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Funeral services for Karen will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Van Wert, with Rev. William C. Haggis II officiating. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Preferred memorials: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Bell Tower Fund.
