Michael Imler

Michael Imler, age 44, of Ohio City, passed away on the evening of Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Lutheran Downtown Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born on August 30, 1979, in Van Wert, Mike was the cherished son of James Imler and Becky (Gaskill) Ladd.

A 1998 graduate of Wayne Trace High School, Mike currently worked at Teijan Automotive and was a member of the UAW.

Outside of work, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time in nature, hunting and fishing, and his cooking was legendary among family and friends.

Mike is survived by his children, Logan Harrison, Skyler Imler, Mason Imler and Eliza Leiendecker; mother, Becky (Don) Ladd; sister, Michelle (Nate May) Seibert; step-siblings, Derek, Dustin (Megan), Josh (Stephanie), and John (Christina) Ladd, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Please join us in celebrating Mike’s life and bidding him a fond farewell. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, January 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Visitation will be prior to the funeral at the funeral home, from 1-4 p.m. Monday.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials: the Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association, or to the Van Wert County Humane Society.
