Fuerst steps down from Wassenberg

After less than a year on the job, the head of the Wassenberg Art Center has resigned from her position. Executive Director Brook Fuerst resigned January 30. Her resignation was confirmed by Board President Sticky Rammel Sunday night.

“We wish her nothing but the best,” Rammel said.

She was appointed by the Van County County Foundation in late March of last year. Her duties included managing, developing, and evaluating programs, promotions, operational workflow, financial reporting and budgeting to fulfill the vision, mission, and values of the Wassenberg Art Center.

A ceramic artist, Fuerst was born and raised in Van Wert and was a 2013 graduate of Van Wert High School. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2018.

Fuerst did not respond to a request for comment.
