Knight wrestlers take on Golden Bears

CONVOY — Crestview wrestled well but came up short in a 42-31 non-conference dual match against Division II Bryan on Thursday.

The big match of the night came at 150 pounds, where Crestview’s Levi Grace earned picked up a win via major decision over his state ranked opponent.

“Levi had the biggest win of the night over Collin Rachel, who is ranked No. 22 in Division II in the final state rankings this season,” head coach Jake Sawmiller said. “Levi controlled this match from the start and put up a commanding lead at 10-0 before giving up a late reversal at the end of match to win by a major decision 10-2. As a senior, this is it, we are down to our final few weeks getting to work with Levi and what I saw tonight shows me this kid is ready to go all in to close out his wrestling career. That was by far the best wrestling I have seen out of Levi and it couldn’t be happening at any better of a time.”
