Squirrel blamed for Sunday’s outage

A squirrel caused Sunday’s power outage in Van Wert.

According to an AEP Ohio spokesperson, a squirrel got into AEP’s equipment at 6:40 a.m., causing power to go out to 1,160 customers. Service was restored approximately two hours later.
