County teams run at Kalida Invite

KALIDA — Van Wert and Crestview boys finished 1-2 at the Kalida Invitational on Saturday, while Lincolnview finished fourth out of 20 teams.

For the Cougars, Owen Scott finished second overall with a time of 15:39.2, while Drew Laudick was third (16:22). Harrison Sloan (14th, 17:03.9) and Johan Gemmer (18th, 17:11.8) rounded out the scoring for Van Wert.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Ty Rosengarten was the individual champion (15:38).

Crestview was led by Andrew Heth, who played 10th overall (16:59.1), followed by Kale Vining (26th, 17:40.3), Derek Young (27th, 17:40.5), and Luke Sawmiller (30th, 17:50.1).

The Lancers were paced by Evan Johns (8th,16:52.2) and Kreston Tow (13th, 17:03.7), followed by Myles Moody (35th, 18:06.4) and Max Hammons (36th, 18:06.4).

Overall, Van Wert finished with 56 points, while Crestview and Otsego each had 124 team points. Lincolnview finished with 132 points.

Lincolnview fnished third on the girls’ side and Van Wert was ninth.

Brynleigh Moody led the Lancers by finishing ninth overall (19:46.3), followed by Keira Breese (13th, 20:35.6), Kendall Hoffman (28th, 21:34) and Kassidy Hammons (29th, 21:37.1).

Symphony Schuerman led Van Wert with a 10th place finish (19:48.2), followed by Noelle Byrum (24th, 21:22.8), Lexi Deitemeyer (44th, 22:07.7) and Harmony Schuerman (80th, 24:19.3).

Crestview did not field a team but Anna Gardner led the Lady Knights (26th, 21:27.6).

Ottawa-Glandorf won the team title.
