The YWCA of Van Wert County has announced its second annual golf outing fundraiser, scheduled for Thursday, June 19, at Willow Bend Country Club. Proceeds from the event will provide vital funding for the YWCA’s Youth Development and Survivor Services Programs.
The golf outing will feature an array of opportunities for participants of all skill levels to win cash and other exciting prizes. Skill games such as closest to the pin and longest putt will be available, along with 50-50 tickets and a lottery ticket raffle. For more experienced golfers, a skins game will also be offered. Players can win cash by challenging Willow Bend’s own professional golfer, Chuck Sperry, in the “Beat the Pro” contest.

This year’s event introduces a variety of new games, including a “hit it to get it” putting challenge with prizes and a mini-golf hole-in-one challenge offering cash awards. Additionally, participants can choose between two tee times: 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. Willow Bend will be offering signature drinks during the morning and afternoon sessions.
YWCA President and CEO, Kimberly Laudick, explained the changes made to the event this year.
“Last year’s outing was well attended, but we understand that businesses may find it challenging to commit to a full-day event,” she said. “To accommodate this, we’ve reformatted the outing to go at a quicker pace, allowing for two flight options and a shorter time commitment for businesses to get their staff involved.”
All registrants will receive 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, and a portable bluetooth speaker perfect for providing music while on the links or elsewhere. There are also a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for businesses, with most levels including at least one golf team as part of the sponsorship package.
“Sponsors receive a variety of benefits, including social media and website marketing, signage featuring their logo, and the opportunity for their employees to represent the company on the course,” Laudick stated. “This is a great opportunity for businesses of all sizes to get involved and show their support for the YWCA.”
Businesses and individuals interested in participating can find sponsorship details and registration information on the YWCA’s website at www.ywcavanwert.org. Questions regarding the event or sponsorship opportunities may be directed to julies@ywcavanwertcounty.org.
