Ribbon cutting set for new runway

The extension of the runway at the Van Wert County Regional Airport will be celebrated during a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m. this Saturday, September 6.

The longer runway, which was extended by 1,000 feet, taking it to 5,000 feet, allows bigger jets, including a Gulfstream 550, to fly into the local airport, rather than having to fly into Fort Wayne.
