Season opener…

Van Wert girls basketball coach Mike Dowdy talks to his starters during Friday night’s season opener against Ottoville. Unfortunately for Van Wert, Ottoville won the game 67-41. Amaya Dowdy led Van Wert with 15 points, followed by Jazz Florence (11) and Allison Geib. The Cougars (0-1) won’t play again until December 2, when the travel to Mercer County to face Marion Local.
