Lancers top Elida 4-2, improve to 7-0

Lincolnview spotted Elida a run, then rallied for a 4-2 non-conference baseball win on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs struck in the top of the second inning when Jordan Davis crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly by Justin Moore.

The Lancers (7-0) scored a pair runs in the bottom of the third when Gavin Carter’s two-out RBI single plated Brayden Evans and Jaden Youtsey.

Elida tied the game in the top half of the fourth when Davis scored his second run of the game on a sacrifice fly by Brayden Lybarger, but Lincolnview countered with a run in the bottom of the inning when Chayten Overholt singled home Collin Overholt.

The Lancers scored an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth, when Braxton Fox stole home.

Ethan Parsons pitched four innings and allowed two runs on seven hits, while striking out one and walking one. Chayten Overholt pitched the remainder of the game and held the Bulldogs hitless, and struck out four.

Lincolnview will host Columbus Grove today.
