Crestview shuts down Allen East

Caden Hurless pitched a complete game three-hit shutout, as the Crestview Knights improved to 4-2 (3-0 NWC) with a 4-0 win over Allen East on Thursday. Hurless struck out nine and walked two. The Knights opened a 2-0 lead in the first quarter when RBI singles by Dylan Hicks and Derek Stout plated Brant Richardson and Riley Saylor. The remaining two runs came in the fifth, when Griffin Painter’s RBI single scored Richardson, then Stout drove in Hicks. Crestview will host Parkway today. Scott Truxell/Van Wert independent
