VW man gets prison for domestic violence

A Van Wert man was sentenced to prison during a hearing held Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.
David Krieg, 25, was given 16 months in prison on a charge of domestic violence, a felony of the fourth degree. Judge Martin D. Burchfield also gave Krieg credit for 36 days already served.
Krieg had changed his plea to guilty during a hearing held May 2 as part of a plea bargain that reduced the domestic violence charge from a third-degree felony to a felony of the fourth degree.
Also sentenced on Wednesday was Justin Landis, 23, of New Haven, Indiana. Landis was sentenced to 180 days in jail on a charge of breaking and entering, a felony of the fifth degree. Judge Burchfield also gave him credit for 21 days already served.
A Convoy man entered a change of plea during a hearing held Friday, June 1.
Norman Foerch, 49, pleaded no contest, and was found guilty, of one count each of sexual imposition, a misdemeanor of the third degree, and furnishing alcohol to minors, a first-degree misdemeanor. Judge Burchfield set sentencing in the case for 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21.
Two other people also entered changes of pleas during hearings held Wednesday in Common Pleas Court.
Idris Nurideen, 42, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to a charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a felony of the fourth degree, as well as two specifications for scales and having $265 in cash used in commission of the crime. Judge Burchfield ordered a presentence investigation in the case and scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 11.
Nowelle Finger, 27, of Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to a charge of complicity to robbery, a felony of the second degree. A presentence investigation was also ordered in her case, and she will appear for sentencing at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13.
