Pauline Marie Shaffer

Pauline Marie Shaffer, 90, of Lexington, Kentucky, and formerly of Van Wert, passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.

She was born February 23, 1928, in Mercer County, the daughter of Henry and Pearl (Gehm) Bollenbacher, who both preceded her in death. In 1948, she married Leland H. Shaffer, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Dave) Akerman of Van Wert and Rhonda (Doug) Archbold of Lexington; two brothers, Jerry (Nita) Bollenbacher and Lowell Bollenbacher, both of Celina; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Luther and Carrol Bollenbacher, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at St. Paul United Church of Christ near Rockford, with the Rev. Catherine Beckett presiding. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
