Barbara L. Taylor, 70, ofVenedocia, passed away at 3:29 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born October 1, 1947, in Van Wert, the daughter of Alfred Jackson and Alice (Stegaman) Bell, who both preceded her in death.

Barbara was a 1965 graduate of Lincolnview High School and attended St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. While she tended bar for many Van Wert establishments, Barbara worked for 15 years at The Corral. Though her illness kept her from enjoying many of her favorite activities, Barbara could still be found in the kitchen baking and cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Taylor of Venedocia; two children, Leslie (Billie) Collins of Van Wert and Nicole (Kara F.) Taylor of Shawnee; two brothers, GregJackson of Van Wert and Alfred “Jack” (Debora) Jackson of North Carolina; two sisters, Carol (Barry) Crowle of North Carolina and Pam Longstreth of Van Wert; her stepfather, James Bell of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Sharon McClain of Lima, Jerron Taylor of Van Wert, and Layten Collins of Van Wert; one stepgrandson, Jayse; three great-grandchildren, Kayliana, Ariel, and Zoey; and 23 nieces and nephews, Michelle Finkhousen, Torrie Coburn, and Amy Reardon, Eric and Matt Longstreth, Sumer Figley, Justin Jackson, and Kari Crider, Angel Stevens and Greg Jackson, Jeff, Kim, and Julie Short, Charlie Mechling, Brian and Eric Neely, Lisa Kinninger, Lewis and Katrina Taylor, Jeanie and Samantha Taylor, and Justin and Jessie Taylor.

A niece, Brandy Blauvelt; and two nephews, Chad Mechling andChris Longstreth, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Lutheran Heart Center at Lutheran Hospital.
