Larry W. Longwell

Larry W. Longwell, 64, of Van Wert, died at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born March 4, 1947, in Van Wert, the son of the late Walter Reuben and Virginia (Adams) Longwell. On November 4, 2000, he married Wanda (Grieshaber) Longwell, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four children, Larry (Melinda) Longwell and Shannon Moreno, both of Van Wert, Lisa (Troy) Waldron of Middle Point and Shelley (Matt) Dunham of Decatur, Ind.; a sister, Carol (Kim) Army of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Pastor Tommy Sandefer officiating Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, August 5, at the funeral home.
