ODOT lists upcoming road projects
LIMA – The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 has issued its weekly report on construction and maintenance work taking place the week of August 8 in the district, which includes Van Wert, Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam and Wyandot.
Area projects include the following:
Van Wert County
- U.S. 30, from Middle Point-Wetzel Road to Fifth Street in Delphos, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project that is expected to begin in the next few weeks. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company.
Ohio 118 (Shannon Street), between Ervin Road and Main Street, remains open to local traffic only during a reconstruction, widening and water line and sanitary sewer installation project that began in 2010. Localized one-block closures will occur throughout the project. In addition, beginning Monday, the intersection of Ervin Road and Shannon Street will be closed for three weeks for installation of drainage and water line construction. Work is expected to be completed in September. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company of Thornville.- U.S. 30, between U.S. 224 and Lincoln Highway, is restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for a resurfacing project that began May 2. Work will continue until mid-summer. A width restriction of 11 feet is no longer in effect. Work is being performed by the Shelly Company of Findlay.
Paulding County
- Ohio 613, from U.S. 127 to Ohio 500, is reduced to one lane through the work zone beginning in the middle of the week for tarring and chipping of the roadway. Work is being performed by Paulding County ODOT crews.
- Ohio 66, on the east-west portion of the highway between County Road 60 and County Road 197, is now open.
- County Road 424 (formerly U.S. 24), from the Ohio-Indiana state line to Defiance, is restricted to one lane through the work zone for resurfacing that will continue until September. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving in Napoleon.
Putnam County
- Ohio 109, from Ohio 613 to the Henry-Putnam county line, will be reduced to one land through the work zone for removal of raised pavement markers. Work is being performed by Putnam County ODOT crews.
- Ohio 65 south of Ottawa will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for ditch cleaning. Work is being performed by Putnam County ODOT crews.
