Summer Food Program ends

Participants in the YWCA’s Summer Food Program had a great time Friday in Jubilee Park during the 2011 program’s final day. The finale included special play equipment and an outdoor cookout to culminate the program, which provides free meals to local children during the summer. Program coordinator  Lori Becker said the program served more than 11,000 meals this summer — nearly 300 a day on average. (photos by Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
