Margaret Joyce English

Margaret Joyce English, 82, of Van Wert, died peacefully at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born October 9, 1928, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Robert Oscar and Hazel Catherine (Piper) Nihiser. She had been married to Donald Charles English, who preceded her in death on February 27, 2010.

Ms. English had worked at Van Wert County Hospital and then for more than 20 years at Starr Commonwealth in Van Wert. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and was a 1946 graduate of Van Wert High School. She was a very caring person to her family and all her friends.

Survivors include two sons, Donn B. English of Antwerp and Paul C. English of Van Wert; a daughter, Robin Lee Wright of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren, Brett, Andrea, Shawn, Erin, Audrey, Larissa, Sana, Nathaniel, Daniel, Seth and Katelyn; and six great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Catherine and Valerie; a brother, Maurice Benson Nihiser; and three sisters, Carol Louise Leiter, Mabel Bernice Lininger and Florence Alice Breece, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 12, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor John Richardson officiating.

Calling hours are an hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
