Mary Catherine McDowell

Mary Catherine McDowell, 85, formerly of Middle Point, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Van Wert Manor.

She was born December 29, 1925, in Middle Point, the daughter of the late Clifford R. and Lotta J. (Myers) Showalter. On January 15, 1949, she married Lloyd W. McDowell, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1983.

Survivors include three children, Jeff (Sally) McDowell of Convoy and David McDowell and Barry (Sue) McDowell, both of Van Wert; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; six great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A sister, Doris Showalter, also preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Gearhart. Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, at the funeral home.
