Martha A. Carder

Martha A. “Marty” Carder, 79, of Delphos, died at 1:55 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born March 31, 1932, in Kalida, the daughter of the late George C. and Agnes (Dietrich) Warnement. On February 14, 1953, she married Delbert Carder, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include six sons, Michael E. (Pam) Carder, Randal J. (Jannette) Carder, Norman J. (Kim) Carder and Eric L. (Angie) Carder, all of Delphos, Stephen G. (Jeannine) Carder of Indiana and Bruce E. (Janet) Carder of Columbus; a daughter, Pam (John) Horstman of Delphos; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Six brothers, Albert, John, Edmund, Eugene, Richard and Wilfred; and two sisters, Lucille Gilgenbaugh and Emma Hansen, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 27, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling hours are from noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where a Catholic Ladies of Columbia service will be held at 4 p.m., an Eagles Auxiliary memorial service at 4:30 that afternoon and a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday.
