Ralph L. Short

Ralph L. Short, 73, of Winchester, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born April 16, 1938, in Dayton, the son of the late Arnold and Nellie (Davis) Short. He married Shirley (Wilson) Short, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three children, Patricia Haws of Middletown, Tina Day of Van Wert and George “Joey” Wilson of Dayton; two brothers, Michael Short of Gratis and Richard (Linda) Short of Arkansas; a sister, Lydia (Johnny) Gay of Troy; and four grandchildren.

Three brothers, Charles, Tommy and Larry Short, also preceded him in death.

Private family funeral services will be conducted at a later date.

No calling hours are scheduled at this time.

Preferred memorials: Activities Department at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
