Snow hits county!
Van Wert County got the largest snowfall of the year overnight Wednesday, with County Emergency Management Director Rick McCoy noting that Van Wert city received 4 inches and Convoy 3½ inches of the white stuff. Friday’s temperatures will be frigid as a shot of Arctic air moves into to the area. McCoy said to expect a high today of just 16 degrees, with a low of 8 Friday night (wind-chill of minus 2 degrees). A warm-up will begin Saturday, with a high of 32 and a low of 30, with a slight chance of snow flurries. Sunday’s high will be 36, with a low of 27, and Monday will see a high of 43 with a chance of rain. Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent
