Donald L. Peters

Donald L. “Pete” Peters, 83, of Convoy, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, at Sarah Jane Living Center in Delphos.

He was born July 14, 1928, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of the late Erwin and Louise (Dietrich) Peters. On February 4, 1951, he married Janet (Kiehl) Peters, who survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include a daughter, Donna (Mike) Porter of Paulding; one son, Dennis (Pam) Peters of Prospect; a sister, Alice Custer of Spring Hill, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A son, Jeffery Peters; and a brother-in-law, Forest “Bud” Custer, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy, with the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, and an hour prior to services on Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy.
