VWCS continues online learning; no sports

VW independent/submitted information

In a press conference held on Monday, April 20, Governor Mike DeWine announced all Ohio schools will remain closed through the end of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Van Wert City Schools will continue to educate students through distance learning and teachers will be in contact with parents and students regarding classwork. All school buildings will remain closed during this time.

VWCS will also continue to provide meals for students through the Grab and Go meal service plan on Mondays from 10:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at both the Van Wert Middle School and Ohio City locations through the end of the school year.

All spring sports and extracurricular activities are canceled for the remainder of the school year. High school prom, which was originally scheduled for April 25, is canceled, with the hopes of rescheduling it at a later date. Information regarding high school graduation will be announced as soon as details are finalized under the new guidelines.
