Cougar volleyball loses to Coldwater

The Van Wert Cougars were back in action last night at home when they took on the Coldwater Cavaliers. The Cougars put their hearts into the night but came up short of a victory. Van Wert was fighting hard for fellow varsity player, Melissa Bono, who went down in the first match with an injury to her ankle. Coldwater is a very aggressive team and the Cougars just couldn’t put their offense and defense together on the court.

Scores for the evening were 16-25, 12-25 and 19-25. The varsity is now 3-3 on the season and will be back at home on Thursday night against Elida.

The theme” night for Thursday is “Van Wert Staff.”  School staff members attending the game will register their names in a drawing for two gift cards to Collins Fine Foods at the door.

The Van Wert junior varsity team was defeated by Coldwater by game scores of 18-25, 25-22 and 21-25. The JVs are now 5-1 on the season. The freshman team played Delphos St. John’s and was defeated in two games, 18-25 and 18-25. The freshmen are now 1-2 on the season.
