Lancer CC team competes at VWCH meet
The Lincolnview Lancer cross country team competed at the Van Wert County Hospital Invitational on Saturday.
The boys’ team placed fifth in the meet that featured state-ranked Minster, Columbus Grove, and Crestview. The boys were led by a 14th place finish by Bayley Tow (17:29). Ben Bilimek also ran a career best time on the course placing 21st in a time of 17:45. Rounding out the top five were Jeff Jacomet (29th), Austin Treesh (41st), and Brandon Jacomet (59th).
“We took another step forward as team,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “Once again, the boys were able to lower their season average. We are not where we want to be yet, but have found some consistency, which is going to serve us well in the weeks to come.”
The girls’ team placed ninth and were led by Karissa Burns, who ran the course in a season best time of 21:32. She was followed closely by Kerri Grothaus who ran the course in 21:24. Rounding out the top five were Sabrina Barnhart (63rd), Haley McAbee (70th), and Taylor Miller (87th).
“The girls ran hard today,” Coach Langdon noted. “Our challenge now is to find consistency from race to race and close our pack time.”
