Knights prepare for homecoming festivities

By Katie Trigg

With fall homecoming quickly approaching, the Knights have begun to start preparing for the festivities. Both the juniors and seniors have started with powderpuff by selling their t-shirts to wear for the game. They still have to start practices, with the game coming up on October 20. Senior MacKenzie Richard said, “The seniors are highly favored to win because we won last year.”

The homecoming attendants were also chosen last week by the classes they will be representing. Freshmen attendants are Mallory Bowen and Mitchell Rickard. The sophomore attendants will be Riley Guest and Copsey Bogle. The junior attendants are Sydney Waltmire and Trevor Roop. The queen candidates are McKenzie Nofer, Taylor Springer, and Taylor Hamrick. The king candidates are Matt Holden, Noah Gebert, and Jared Burger.

In sports action, the volleyball team took on Bluffton on Tuesday, and Columbus Grove on Thursday, both of which were NWC matchups. The freshmen football team took on LCC on Monday, which was their only game of the season. Girls’ soccer played at Coldwater on Tuesday and played a make up game Thursday with Ada at home. Tomorrow night the varsity football team will take on the Ada Bulldogs in hopes of continuing their four-game winning streak after their victory over Delphos Jefferson last Friday. Senior Jared Burger said, “We’ve been working hard this week on our game plan. We feel that if we stick to it we have a really good chance of winning.”
