OAEMS to meet in Van Wert

Vantage Career Center will welcome the Ohio Association of Emergency Medical Services (OAEMS), to Vantage for its Fall EMS Conference October 21, 22 & 23.  OAEMS, based out of Sidney Ohio, sponsors 4 educational conferences throughout the year, to further EMS training.

The Keynote speaker for the Fall conference will be Attorney Larry Bennett, Program Chair, Fire Science & Emergency Management, University of Cincinnati.  Mr. Bennett will be hosting a “Legal Lessons: Fire & EMS Questions and Answer Session, as well as serving as the attorney for a “Mock Trial-Improved EMS Reports”.  Along with his duties at the University of Cincinnati, Mr. Bennett is a well known author, and Guest Speaker for many conferences, both Fire and EMS, throughout the state of Ohio, specializing in Fire & EMS Law.

Additionally, the conference will host guest speakers such as Dr. Orlow and Dr. Reed, Lutheran Hospital Level One Heart, Scot Tuttle, RN and Pediatric Instructor, Lutheran Hospital and Lutheran Air, and Mike Callahan from Miami Valley Hospital will speak about the effects of  “Bath Salts”, the current drug epidemic hitting our area communities.
