C’view girls’ soccer team loses to Kalida

KALIDA — The Crestview Lady Knights traveled to the home of the Kalida Lady Wildcats on Thursday evening.  The Knights jumped out to a quick lead when Brooke Bowen scored at the 37:25 mark of the first half with an assist by Catelyn Mefferd.  The Lady Cats answered with three goals to make the score 3-1 at the half.

Kalida tacked on three more goals in the second half and, with 3:12 remaining, Crestview’s Clare Mefferd sent the ball into the box and Madison Etzler was able to get a head on it to score for the Lady Knights.

Final score at the buzzer was Kalida 6 and Crestview 2.

Crestview recorded two shots on goal and Kalida had 15.  The Lady Knights keeper, Megan Foster, had 10 saves on the night.

Crestview’s overall record is now 7-6-2 and will travel to Ottoville to take on the Lady Green at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday in sectional tournament action.
