Titans defeat Van Wert boys’ soccer team

The Van Wert Cougars fell to a respectable 6-7-2 on the season with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Western Buckeye League powerhouse Ottawa-Glandorf Thursday night at the new VWHS soccer complex.

Van Wert needs to defeat Defiance in sectional tournament action to tie last season’s win record of seven games. Last season’s Cougars were also sectional champions. If Van Wert defeats the Bulldogs in the sectional opener, then they would face off against this same O-G team for the sectional title.

The best record ever recorded in VWHS history is that of the 1995 team, which ended the season at 9-5-1.
