LeDoyle Figley

LeDoyle “Farmer” Figley, 103, of Rockford, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, where he had been a patient.

He was born August 25, 1908, near Rockford, the son of the late James and Goldie (Hook) Figley. On October 22, 1930, he married Mabel Agnes (Strickler) Figley, who preceded him in death on December 11, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Dick (Janice) Figley and Keith Figley, both of Rockford; a daughter, Jane Roebuck of Cridersville; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A son-in-law, Virgil Roebuck; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Figley; and a great-grandchild, Joshua Roebuck, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 4, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Rockford United Methodist Church.
