W. Jean Carrier

W. Jean Carrier died Monday, November 7, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was born August 29, 1933, in Mendon, the daughter of the late A.E. “Jack” and Mable (Coats) Schwarck. In June 1951, she married Burton Carrier, who preceded her in death in 2008.

Survivors include five daughters, Deanna (Tom) Mosier, Kay Lambert, Beth (John) Muntzinger, Stella (Thane) Thatcher and Lisa (David) Gibson; a brother, Bill Schwarck of Spencerville; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

A daughter, Robin; three brothers, John, Robert and Joe Schwarck; five sisters, Anna McCollum, Louise Wertenberger, Leona McCollum, Virginia Schwarck an Margaret Patterson; and four grandchildren, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Friday, November 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 9 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
