State auditor gives Vantage audit award

A recent financial audit of Vantage Career Center by the Auditor of State Dave Yost’s office has returned a clean audit report. Vantage Career Center’s excellent record keeping has earned it the Auditor of State Award.
”It is a great honor to have received this award from the Auditor of State’s Office,” said Vantage Treasurer/CFO Lori Davis. “The accomplishment of a clean audit takes a lot of hard work from many individuals here at the district.
“It is not an easy job to make sure financial internal controls and accounting procedures are followed to make sure the financial activity of the school district is protected,” Davis added. “Our daily mission at Vantage Career Center is to offer high-quality education within the financial means with which the citizens of our district has entrusted us. We have a great team and will always strive for excellence in education!”
The Auditor of State Award is presented to local governments and school districts upon the completion of a financial audit. Entities that receive the award meet the following criteria of a clean audit report:
- Must be a GAAP entity without a CAFR (Certified Annual Financial Report) that timely files their financial reports with the Auditor of State;
- The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or questioned costs;
- The entity’s management letter contains no comments related to:
- Ethics referrals
- Questioned costs less than $10,000
- Lack of timely report submission
- Reconciliation
- Failure to obtain a timely Single Audit
- Findings for recover less than $100
- Public meetings or public records
