Lightning strikes truck in Van Wert

It’s very rare, but a direct lightning strike occurred in Van Wert on Thursday.

It happened shortly after 9:30 a.m., when a bolt of lightning hit a pickup truck parked at Braun Ambulances on Production Drive. A person was reportedly in the truck but was not injured.

The lightning strike was caught on surveillance video.
