Marlins compete in 2 swim meets

The Van Wert YMCA Marlins sent a small contingent of four swimmers to the Galion YMCA 12 & Under Invitational on November 5.

The local swimmers finished no lower than eighth in a very large and competitive meet.  Details from the Galion meet are below.

On November 12, the Marlins hosted Galion and Tiffin YMCAs in a tri-meet at the Van Wert YMCA. The Marlins split the meet, losing to Galion while defeating Tiffin.

Taking first in all four of their individual events were Daniel Miller, Addison Henkaline and Sam Easley.  The following swimmers also had first place finishes on Saturday: Emma Pollock (3), Jamie Burenga (1), Risa Pollock (1), Katie McVaigh (2); Andrew Henkaline (1); Aaron Stant (1); Bethany Fast (2); Evan Stant (1); Eric Easley (2) and Matt Cucciarre (1).

The 11-12 Girls 200 Medley Relay team of Katie McVaigh, Risa Pollock, Addison Henkaline and Erin Miller finished second, while the 13-14 Girls 200 Medley Relay team of Jamie Burenga, Emma Pollock, Bethany Fast and Noelle Heffner finished first.

The Marlins travel to Lima this Saturday to compete in the Lima Family YMCA Fall Invitational.
