Village sets ‘Christmas in the Park’ event

WILLSHIRE — “Christmas in the Park,” to be held in the village of Willshire, is quickly approaching. Plan now to bring family and friends and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.

Those who stroll through the park will see a live Nativity and luminaries lighting the pathway. They will also be able to take part in many several activities, including carriage rides, making Christmas crafts, and stringing foods for the birds to enjoy.

Those who participate will hear beautiful Christmas music and be able to listen to readings of favorite holiday stories. They will also be able to enjoy popcorn and hot chocolate, as well as homemade soups, sandwiches, and cookies.

This event is a great way to prepare for and celebrate the season of Christmas. Plan now to join in on this time of fun.

“Christmas in the Park” will be held at the Willshire village park Sunday, December 4, from 4-7 p.m.  The Willshire Lions Club is sponsoring the event, with assistance from local businesses and organizations.

Luminaries will also light the pathway in the park on December 4 for “Christmas in the Park”.  Plan to memorialize or honor someone dear during this time. A luminary can be lighted to honor someone special during the luminary lighting ceremony to be held at 5 p.m. December 4.  Names will be added to the luminaries that are sponsored and purchasers will have the opportunity to light the luminary if they so choose.

Luminaries can be sponsored for $5 each, with proceeds going to support local projects. Send information to “Willshire Lions Club”, P.O. Box 274, Willshire, OH 45898 by Monday, November 28. Include the name of the person being honored, as well as the name of the person who will be lighting the luminary. The Lions Club will have a representative available to light the luminary, if needed.
