Lady Cougar bowlers down New Bremen

WAPAKONETA — The Van Wert Lady Cougar bowling team improved its season to 2-2 by defeating the New Bremen Cardinals at Astro Lanes in Wapakoneta on Saturday.

The Cougars started off their bowling on a slow note, with much of the first game close on pin count, but ended up on top after the first game by a score of 681 to 612.

Van Wert got on track in the second game, though, rolling a 708 to the Lady Cardinals’ 541 for a 230-pin lead going into the baker games. The lead was enough to hold on for a win of 1963 to 1819.

High rollers for the day were Britany Myers, with games of 180 and 173; Sierra Kesler, with a 145 game; and Kylie Allenbaugh with a 144 game.

The Lady Cougar bowlers will be in action again Saturday, December 17, at Pla-mor Lanes in Coldwater against the Celina Lady Bulldogs.
