WCC holds Christmas Dinner get-together
By Rex Dolby
Nineteen members and guests attended the Wassenberg Camera Club’s annual Christmas Dinner and Year-End judging on Thursday evening, December 8 at the Wassenberg Art Center.
After a fine meal, and the tables were cleared, the group selected the best print and slide of the year. The best print was awarded to Will Hawkins for his close-up of a dewy rose. President Jodi Hattery won the best slide with her print of a cardinal perched on a branch while snowflakes fell.
The group next worked on possible competition themes for 2012. Those themes are: January – Celebrations; February – Food; March — Doors/Windows; April – Macro; May – Weather; June — Moon & Stars; July — Military Equipment/Patriotic; August — Outdoor Fun; September – Hats; October — Ghosts/transparency; and November — Harvest Scenes.
Officers for the new year are: Doug Heckler — President, Will Hawkins — Vice President, and Rex Dolby — Secretary. One item of business to be held over for the first meeting of the new year will be the filling of the treasurer’s position as long-time treasurer, Karl Gribler, has decided not to seek reelection.
The club’s next meeting will be on Thursday, January 12, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center.
