Marlins do well in recent swim meets

The YMCA Marlins traveled to Defiance on December 3 to compete in a tri-meet with the Defiance and Sandusky YMCAs.

Seven swimmers made the trip and collected a total of 23 first place finishes. Sam Easley and Addison Henkaline each won all five of their individual events. Also taking first place finishes were Emma Pollock (four); Jamie Burenga (one); Risa Pollock (four) and Andrew Henkaline (four).

On December 10, six Marlin swimmers traveled to Shelby to compete with eight other teams in the Shelby Family YMCA Rubber Ducky Invite. Taking first place in all four of her individual events was Katie McVaigh. Also winning first were Emma Pollock (three); Daniel Miller (two); Risa Pollock (one) and Erin Miller (one).

The 200-medley relay team (Erin Miller, Risa Pollock, Katie McVaigh and Noell Heffner) finished second, while the 200 freestyle relay team (Risa Pollock, Emma Pollock, Miller and McVaigh) finished first.

10 & Under Boys: Andrew Henkaline – 1^st 50 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Free and 50 Back; 9^th 200 Free.

11-12 Girls: Addison Henkaline –1^st 100 IM, 50 Free, 50 Fly, 50 Back and 50 Breast.

11-12 Boys: Sam Easley – 1^st 200 Free, 50 Free, 50 Fly, 100 Free and 50 Back.
