YM sets fundraiser to pay for renovations

Van Wert independent/YMCA information

The YMCA of Van Wert County is now selling 4×8-inch bricks and 8×8-inch pavers as a fundraising project for renovations planned for the front of the Y building and landscaping.

J.J. McClain, YMCA membership/marketing director, holds a sample engraved brick and paver that will be placed in front of the Y in Spring 2012. Orders are being taken now, with a limited number of each available. (YMCA photo)

The bricks are $100 each and can include up to three lines of information, 15 characters per line. The pavers are $225 each and can have up to five lines of information, 15 characters per line.  Bricks and pavers can be purchased anytime now through March 2012, with a limited number of each available.  They will be placed in a cutout area in the new front sidewalk of the Y.

“We are really excited to start this project,” stated J.J. McClain, YMCA membership/marketing director. “This is going to give families and businesses a visual way to show their support of the Y, while providing a portion of the funding to help do work to the front of our facility.”

McClain added: “we know we have an aging facility, but we are doing as much as we can to work with what we have. Our front entrance helps set the first impression and we are excited to be able to economically make improvements to this area.”

People interested in ordering a brick or paver may call McClain at the Y at 419.238.0443 or email her at jj@vwymca.org.
